As promised here is the video of the abra ride across Dubai Creek from Deira to Bur Dubai. The boat pulls out a short distance, then pulls back in again because the driver decided that he needed two more passengers. Once two more men got on, away we go.

June 1, 2009I sometimes take the bus to work here, and during one such excursion I came across this amusing bit of graffiti. Rather odd as it was in the very back of the bus where only men would normally be riding. Not too common to see graffiti on the bus anyway, but this was one of the older buses that is still in service. They’ve been adding a lot of buses to the fleet so a growing percentage of the buses you see out there are shiny and new. And well air conditioned!
