Apparently, this is sauce you can put on everything.

We had more grocery bags than we could carry in one trip, so DaddyBird went back down to the parking lot to get the rest. The cats sat patiently and watched for his return.

When DaddyBird did return, Oliver smelled something delicious and began to freak out. It was the celery.

Even Bert had to get in on the celery snacking.

It has been a wet winter. The proof is in the grass sprouting up from the sands.

The Bad Thing About Living Abroad

January 12, 2013

bright yellow trumpet shaped flowers

The bad thing about living abroad is the transient nature of the expatriate community. One makes friends and then some of them move away, either going back to their home country or to another country. We’ll miss them when we gather with friends at our favorite restaurants. They will miss out on board game tweet ups. We’ll be watching for their cat and baby photos on Facebook. Consolation comes from the fact that we still have friends who have been in country so long that we can count on them staying.

The good thing about this is that we now have friends in multiple countries that we can visit during our vacations.  I wish we had more vacation time.

While in California, we spent an afternoon with friends on their ranch. DaddyBird lived on this ranch in the 90’s.

We provided lap services to Cooper and Abbey, which meant there was no lap space for Rowdy and Bigfoot, the Bengal cats.

The outdoor cat (whose name I don’t remember) was incredibly loving and enjoyed being petted.
